Medical Assisting Program

Courses that one might take in the Medical Assisting program are as follows:

  • Demonstrate the workplace skills of problem solving, maintaining interpersonal relationships, understanding and applying legal and ethical concepts, and communicating effectively in a professional medical environment
  • Demonstrate the ability to perform patient-related clinical duties and laboratory procedures as appropriate to the clinical setting
  • Demonstrate the ability to perform the administrative duties of medical office management, including reception, medical bookkeeping, secretarial, medical records and computer applications

  • Clinical Procedures I
  • Clinical Procedures II
  • Human Anatomy and Physiology I Lecture
  • Human Anatomy and Physiology II Lecture
  • Introduction to Medical Assisting
  • Medical Assisting Administrative Practicum 2
  • Medical Assisting Clinical Practicum
  • Medical Office Fundamentals: Law and Ethics
  • Medical Records Management
  • Medical Terminology
  • Pharmacology

All students in our Medical Assisting Program are required to complete CPR-First Aid certification. Seminars are offered for an additional cost. Please see the Registrar's office for more information.
