Dover, NH - (November 16, 2007), McIntosh Atlantic Culinary Academy (MACA) will serve Thanksgiving dinner to the Dover Fire Department for the second year, on November 20.
Ten students from Chef Instructor Stephen Hunn’s culinary classes will prepare a gourmet Thanksgiving meal for the Dover Fire Department; including the 20 firefighters that will spend their Thanksgiving serving the public.
The meal will include: cream of sweet potato and butternut squash soup, wild rice salad with grapes and walnuts; cornbread muffins with maple and smoked bacon; roasted hen turkey with savory stuffing and roasted onion and sage gravy among multiple accoutrements. Pecan, pumpkin and mincemeat pies will top off the meal for a sweet finish.
The meal will be prepared throughout the day at MACA; and representatives from the Dover Fire Department will pick up the portioned and sliced dinner for service at the fire stations that evening. Only reheating will be required.
“The Dover Fire Department serves and protects,” said Chef Hunn. “This meal is the MACA way of giving thanks to our firefighters.”
