Seeds of Success Competition Breeds Success for McIntosh College Students

March 1, 2006 ( Dover , New Hampshire )—

Members of the McIntosh College chapter of Delta Epsilon Chi recently had an opportunity to hone their presentation and networking skills by participating in the “Seeds of Success” competition hosted by the Rhode Island Delta Epsilon Chi State Officer Team along with Johnson & Wales University. The competition was held at the Academic Center in Providence, Rhode Island on Friday, February 10, 2006.

“Seeds of Success” is a regional event that provides students the opportunity to refine their skills in public speaking, presentation and networking at a national competition level before heading to the DEX International Career Development conference held in Dallas Texas, April 22-25, 2006. The event included sessions with guest speakers and students also received feedback to help them improve their skills. The University provided a lunch for the students in which they had the chance to network with the other participants.

The event provided significant benefits to McIntosh College students. “An experience every aspiring leader should be a part of,” said Josh Welper, President of the McIntosh College chapter of Delta Epsilon Chi. Welper was one of the chapter members who placed first in the sales management exercise at the event.

For some of the participating students, this was their first opportunity to be involved in a competitive event with Delta Epsilon Chi.. “I feel as though I came out with a great experience under my belt. It brings you closer to real life work situations,” said Jason Osorio, a Member of the McIntosh College chapter.

Delta Epsilon Chi is a Student Leadership Organization on campus at McIntosh, which is involved in providing community service and student enrichment.
