McIntosh College announced today that Julienne Guyette, chef instructor of Nutrition in McIntosh College's Le Cordon Bleu Culinary Arts Program, has developed a coloring book that will be used by the New Hampshire Department of Education in elementary schools to increase children's awareness about fruits and vegetables. Consumption of at least 5 servings of fruits and vegetable a day has been shown to decrease incidence of disease, and those who consume 8 or more servings of fruits and vegetables have further reduction of disease. The coloring book is entitled The ABC's of Fruits and Vegetables with illustrations by Malori Welch, a graphic art student at McIntosh College.
“When used in conjunction with nutrition education materials, this coloring book helps to reinforce healthy food choices and allows for student and educator discussion,” states Cheri White, Education Consultant at the New Hampshire Department of Education. According to White, the collaboration is the second in a series of planned collaborations with Chef Guyette and others at McIntosh College.
